RIVER GOLD AUSTRIA

With a wash pan, a shovel, a few other simple tools and a bit of luck you can find beautiful little sparkling flakes of gold floating down the rivers of Austria.

Around 500BC the Celts discovered enough to trade and forge. Later in the 14th Century the first Gold rush began and in its height around 10% of the worlds production was coming from locations in Salzburg and Kärnten.

The texture is too beautiful to melt so I use it in its pure unchanged form direct from the river.

Pure river gold / recycled Sterling Silver.
